Spot when a product claim overreaches

A claim overreaches when its conclusion goes beyond the evidence shown. Ask what is actually established before relying on it.

Identify the claim precisely

Premium, powerful and body-safe can hide several different meanings. Ask which material, measurement or test is being described. A clinical-sounding word does not establish clinical evidence, and a study about a broad topic does not automatically validate a particular product.

Look for scope and method

Check the exact model, who produced the evidence and what was assessed. A personal review describes one experience unless it reports a genuine test with limits. Sponsorship and affiliate disclosures matter when interpreting a recommendation. Missing evidence warrants caution, not an automatic accusation.

Keep health decisions out of hype

Do not treat a promised sensation or cure as a personalised recommendation. Persistent pain or a worrying change deserves qualified care. Compare object specifications and seller service separately from claims about bodies, relationships or guaranteed enjoyment.

Before you decide

What evidence would be needed to support the conclusion, and is that evidence actually provided?
